| Parents Council |
St. Clement's College Parents Council is a voluntary group composed of the parents of current students attending the school. The role of the Parents Council is to promote the interests of the students in the school in co-operation with the Board of Management, Principal, Teachers and Students.
Parents, especially new parents need good quality information about how the school works and about the education system. While the principal gives this information to the parents, the Parents Council can also play a very valuable role in ensuring that the information reaches all parents.
Some of the activities that the Parents Council can be involved in are:-
· Providing support or organisational input to major school events.
· Preparing school handbooks/calendars.
· Channelling parents views on school policy issues to the Principal/Board
· Organising Fund Raising Events - for the administration and activities of the association and all fund raising events are carried out with the prior approval of the Principal and full accounts are maintained.
For parents of existing St. Clement's students we would like to extend an ongoing invitation to attend one of our regular meetings.
Our meetings are held once a month (usually on the first Wednesday of each month) from 7.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. and meetings are held in the School.
There is also 1 female and 1 male parent representative on the Board of Management.
The Parents Council can be contacted through the Chairperson, Muriel Dinneen on muriel.dinneen@lit.ie |
