A group of 4th years went to a youth leadership programme called Anois. One of the assignments we were set was to start a project that would help our school.
This year our Anois project is to create a card that allows access to the sports facilities including the astro-turf and the P.E. hall. It will cost a once off payment of €3 for the remainder of this year and be exclusive to 1st years but from the start of next year it will be available to all years and cost a once off payment of €10 for the entire year. It will be fully supervised by senior students and teachers to help prevent any accidents occurring. Students participating in this are required to bring in sports gear to prevent damage to their uniform. There will be a selection of sports to choose from for example soccer, tag rugby and hurling. Students will be expected to follow all school rules at all times and if they don’t there is a penalty system in place to make sure it does not happen again for example litter collecting and removal of card for certain period of time depending on the offense.
